The Philippine Midwifery Board Exam is a rigorous test that assesses the competence and knowledge of aspiring midwives in the country. It is administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) twice a year, usually in April and November. The exam consists of two parts: a written test and a practical exam. The written test covers various subjects such as obstetrics, gynecology, neonatology, pharmacology, and more. The practical exam, on the other hand, tests the examinee's ability to perform midwifery procedures and techniques.

To be eligible to take the exam, one must have completed a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery degree from a recognized educational institution in the Philippines. Additionally, applicants must have completed at least 20 deliveries that are signed by their respective preceptors. The PRC also requires applicants to submit other documents such as their NSO/PSA birth certificate, transcript of records with scanned picture, and payment of P600.00.

Once an applicant passes the exam, they will be granted a license to practice midwifery in the Philippines. This license is valid for three years and can be renewed upon completion of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units.
